On your computer, or compatible device, make sure that your wifi is turned on. On some computers this is a switch on the side of the keyboard, others a button on the keyboard itself. If there is no obvious method of ensuring this is turned on, you may need to consult your devices documentation for how to do this.
Select and connect to the 'wireless_hotspot' wireless signal from the list of available wireless networks on your device.
Once connected to the wireless signal, start your web browser and open a website [such as http://www.google.com ] by entering the address in your browser or using your bookmarks. If you are not already logged in, you will be redirected to the wireless.geek.nz login page.
On the login page, enter your wireless.geek.nz username and password in the appropriate fields and click the login button.
If your account or access code has credit remaining you will automatically be logged in and will be able to use the internet.
Note that in order to successfully connect to the internet at a wireless.geek.nz hotspot your device should be set to automatically obtain both its IP address and its DNS settings. By default, most devices are configured in this way and will just work. If your device is not setup to automatically obtain its network settings you will need to change this setting.
For Providers:
Once you have purchased a wireless.geek.nz custom hotspot, all you need to do is plug the hotspot into your existing infrastructure, and things will just start to work.
For most this requires plugging the network cable coming from your modem, into the 'internet' port on the back of the hotspot. You can then plug any other equipment you use to access the internet into the lan ports on the back of the hotspot. You will still be able to access the internet as per usual, but now you can share it with your guests also.
In order to create access cards for sale to guests at your own rates, log in to the Provider area and you will be able to create and print new cards. You can print these on any standard printer, onto any A4 paper for further cutting up. You will also be able to see who is using your connection, and how long they have been on.
If your users are using the paypal payment option in order to purchase internet credit, wireless.geek.nz transfers to your bank account on the 1st of every month with the previous months credit. wireless.geek.nz takes a 25% share on all Paypal transactions to cover processing fees.
